Next Exhibition, "Presumed Distance," March 2015
New. Oil and Egg Tempera on Wood.
This is a large-scale study for 'Presumed Distance,' a phrase pulled from Susan Sontag's essay "The Image World." This is an ongoing body of work exploring the human experience and our presumed distance from death, one another, and nature. The landscape backgrounds are reinterpretations of Thomas Merton's gorgeous landscape photographs with shadows of myself, other artists and friends placed on the surface.
This work will be available to be seen and purchased in March through the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center. http://www.leedy-voulkos.com
